Getting the right board in place and making sure it works effectively are fundamental for Good Corporate Governance (GCG). Komite Nasional Kebijakan Governance (National Committee on Governance – NCG) Indonesia urges the importance and the urgency that corporations have such competent and skilled board, equipped with a strong internalization of GCG principles. It comes to a more specific and particular challenges for State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) which have more stakeholders than any ordinary private companies.

 

To assure the same level of world class Board platform, a well defined board training and certification deemed necessary to stimulate and accelerate the change process of GCG internalization at corporate level. In that light, NCG through its directorship certifying body Lembaga Komisaris dan Direktur Indonesia (LKDI) offers a specific training and certification program leading to the creation of the first 100 well trained and certified SOEs' directors and or commissioners.

 

For that purpose, a thorough and rigorous program has been developed with a well benchmarked syllabus to several international directors' education and certification program. LKDI believes that such a program will provide benefits toward the realization of GCG in Indonesia .

 

Comprehensive Program

 

Training & Certification for SOEs' Directors and Commissioners

•  Well designed program for corporate leaders.

•  3 day program (2 ½ day class and a half-day exam).

•  The examination leads to a certification which the successful graduates will be classified as a Chartered Member of LKDI.

•  Comprehensive Modules (11 modules from philosophical up to practical and actual aspect.

Chartered Member of LKDI

•  Aimed to build a learning community of directorship and GCG.

•  Providing peer review and pressure in implementing and enforcing the GCG principles and practices.

•  Interaction and networking with prominent and high integrity people.

Continuous Professional Education

 

•  Development of credit system to maintain the attribute of Chartered Member.

•  The education might be provided by any designated organizations, standardized by LKDI.

 


Curriculum:

 

Training and Certification for director and commissioner of SOEs is a 3 day program consisting of 2 ½ day seminar in class, followed by a half-day exam leading to a certification where the successful graduates are classified to become a Chartered Member of LKDI. The Chartered Member of LKDI is aimed at becoming the ultimate accreditation of board member at SOEs.

 

The curriculum of the seminar and training is benchmarked to establishment of international directorship organizations. The examination to a certification is designed accordingly to assure the comprehension of participant on the training materials. The passing grade to become a certified director and commissioner is 70%, whilst the presence requirement for each candidate is a minimum of 80%. Once they receive the certified Director or Commissioner Designation, they are automatically eligible to be a Chartered Member of LKDI.
